Welcome

Retired, work part-time or shifts, enjoy being out in the countryside? Then cycle the lanes and byways of Cheshire and surrounding areas with Chester Easy Riders: you won't get left behind.
Chester Easy Riders is an independent cycling club affiliated to Cycling UK. We cycle every Thursday throughout the year with moderate and brisk day rides of 40 to 80 miles.

First Aid for Cyclists

Items on this page are designed to help CER members to take appropriate actions in the event that they or members they are cycling with have an accident and are injured.

Cycling First Aid - this link will take you to the Cycling First Aid training course presentation given by Steve Evans. Each slide has some explanatory notes to augment the text on the slide.

Vinnie Jones - 'Staying Alive' - this short video shows how to administer CPR. Remember to use the 'jaw thrust' method of clearing the airway (Slide 14 in the Steve Evans presentation) rather than tilting the head backwards as seen in the Vinnie Jones video.

112: the emergency phone number - 112 is your life-saving number! It is available everywhere in the UK and EU free of charge and will often connect when the mobile signal is poor.

Echo112  - a smartphone app which will send your location to local emergency services, potentially saving time in them getting to you to give aid.
