5th November 2026 : Overton (brisk)

Walk Mill was very busy with cyclists today and most seemingly heading out toward Wrenbury. I decided a quiet solo ride would be a more suitable option for me but Chris, Toby, and Ray decided I needed company and subsequently I unwittingly became the ride leader.

The early miles through Greenlooms and into Tattenhall allowed me time to mentally plot a route out to the Two Doves at Overton. I chose a very straightforward ride linking Tattenhall to Malpas before then descending into Bangor on Dee. After crossing the A525, we followed Millbrook Lane to Bangor racecourse and turned left onto Bangor Road for the final stretch into Overton.

The Two Doves café  was very quiet so our group of four were seated easily with  food and drinks orders taken and delivered quickly.

Our return journey involved passing the racecourse and then going into Bangor village via the old bridge . We continued to follow the A525 for about a quarter of a mile before turning off towards Farndon.
At Isycoed, I left the group to make their own way home as I wanted to collect some cycling components from Tweeks Cycles.

I expect most of us covered about 60 miles. Thanks to Chris,Toby and Ray for an uneventful ride and promoting me to the role of ride leader !!.
